I agree with this, but first I'd do the research online. What are you primarily using the pistol for? THEN I'd go to every shop you can find and get as much first hand knowledge from those that have used that pistol. Also, have a list of questions that you want to answers to. The shop where the most answers are given means that one has the most knowledge of that pistol. That's the one to do your business with. Like Jester560 said, it should feel like a natural extension of your arm.
