How's the military surplus market looking these days? I remember when you could get a Mosin for less than $100 and stock up on surplus ammo without worrying. Now it feels like everything is either running low or priced like it's a rare collectible. Are there still some good deals out there if you know where to search, or have most of the great imports already been picked over? Is it still worth it?

I wouldn’t go as far as to say the market is totally hopeless. What I’ve seen is that the nature of the deals has evolved. You’re unlikely to find a $100 Mosin anymore, but you can still come across some solid rifles that haven’t been overly hyped, just not the popular ones that everyone is chasing online....

It's not the 90s anymore. I'm afraid you missed the hay day of crates of sub $100 guns at every gun show.. If I remember right, they gave you a free SKS if you bought a half pound of beef jerky.

The good old days.... You could go to a gun show with just a bit of pocket change and leave looking like you scored big at a surplus depot. Now, the only thing that won’t set you back at least $100 is the parking! Times have definitely changed!
