Are FRTs legal here?

I'm thinking about getting a FRT for my AR, but I'm not sure if it's even legal to do so. Does anyone know the ins and outs of this? Or who I should reach out to for guidance on the ATF rules? I'd really appreciate any help.

Afaik FRTs are caught up in a pretty murky legal situation. The ATF has gone after some FRT makers, labeling certain models as machine guns. This classification means they could be considered illegal under federal law, unless you've got the right NFA registration.
