CMP 1911

I’ve been carrying a CMP 1911 in my range bag for a while now. It’s not meant for competition but it has that nostalgic feel that you just don’t find in today’s pistols. I was okay with the price since I wanted something special but I’m wondering if the cost is worth it if you’re mainly looking for a shooter rather than a collectible?

If someone is just looking for the “best shooter for the money,” I’d suggest they go for a newer production gun without a doubt. You’ll find something that’s more accurate, more dependable and likely less expensive. But let’s face it, that’s not why you’d want a CMP 1911. You buy it because it’s nice to own a slice of service history that still performs great and puts a smile on your face at the range.
