It's pretty common for people to fill their buck tags, but I'm really curious, has anyone ever pulled off the feat of getting ten does in a single year?

I have to admit, I’ve never actually hit double digits, but I’ve gotten pretty close a couple of times while managing a property with a high deer count. It’s definitely a lot of work. Early mornings, being precise with your shots, and a fair amount of time spent on meat processing. But if you’re doing it for herd management or to fill your freezer, it’s a pretty satisfying goal to chase.

Beyond just the numbers, what truly matters is how you handle the harvest. If someone is tagging 10 does and using every bit of that meat wisely whether it’s to feed their family, donate to local charities, or stock up for the year, that’s something I genuinely respect. It’s not only about filling tags, it’s about being responsible and having a clear intention.

My son and I routinely kill 10 plus doe a year. That is ten or more each. We keep several apiece, fill our family's freezers and donate the rest.
