Summer can drag on for us hunters, but it’s my chance to get a jump on the season. I’ve been checking my gear and scouting some new spots, though I sometimes slack off and just enjoy the outdoors, so it’s good to hear what everyone else is doing to gear up.

Got most stands/blinds set up. I never leave them out year round.
Treat boots and some pants with permethrin for ticks.
Cameras are set with solar chargers.
Trim shooting lanes.
Change oil, check tires etc in my 4 wheeler and Jeep.
Organize backpack. One for archery season and one for gun season.
Shoot bow daily and shoot rifles when cooler.
Exercise, stretch. Climbing is hard on an old man.
Make sure you get this years hunting license.

My son tells me at 71yrs old I'm to old to be climbing 25ft up in a loc-on tree stand. My reply was apparently not I'm still getting up there.lol

Tip... Start being extra nice to my father in law... He does all the plowing, planting, pictures, feeding, stand placements...👀

Decided to add another 30" extension to my 25ft of ladder sticks and 30" extension and a life line climbing rope for safety while climbing. Also just put seed and fertilizer out on 2 large greenfields and 400+ yds of powerline Saturday praying for some rain this next week.
