Out of all the firearms out there, if you could only pick one, which would it be? What specific make, model, and caliber would you trust the most?

If I had to bet on just one rifle, I'd pick a basic 16-inch 5.56 like the Colt 6920. It's not fancy or trendy, but it's been around for ages and has a good track record. I'll take boring and trustworthy over whatever's popular online any day

I’d choose a quality 12 gauge pump shotgun. A tactical version with a long magazine tube.
If you hold my feet to the fire and make me choose a single example of that, I suppose I’d take the Benelli Supernova Tactical. This choice would allow one the most flexibility for a plethora of uses due to ammo selection -such as slugs, birdshot, heavy game load, buckshot, less-lethal and even exotic ammunition. Pump shotguns tend to be ridiculously reliable and relatively easy to customize to one’s particular needs for sighting systems and fit.

Yeah pump 12‑gauges are versatile and ammo variety alone makes them useful for almost anything
