What’s your go-to revolver for everyday carry and what makes it your top choice? I’m eager to hear insights from those who rely on wheelguns daily about what truly performs well in practical situations.
One of mine is a '60's model 32 Smith & Wesson that belonged to an uncle of mine that collected numbers in Nashville and Detroit . It was his daily carry and is now one of mine. He carried factory RN .38 S&W loads but I carry a stiff load of Herco with a 135 grain GDGP SB . My other short daily Carry revolver is a Colt Cobra .38 Special of a similar vintage that uses the same bullet with a warmish load of Longshot .
I carry an S&W 442 most days. Wilson Combat spring kit, polished trigger return, bonded ivory grips… It’s a great lightweight carry.
I’ve been known to carry a 2 5/8” 629 Performance Center 44 too, for BBQ’s lol.
For me it's the Ruger LCR in .38, it is lightweight, easy to conceal, and super super reliable. The trigger's smooth too, it is not the flashiest, but it does the job every single time without fail
If I’m carrying a revolver concealed it’s either a Single Seven Birdhead in 327 or a SP101 in 327. For daily chores open carry it’s a Blackhawk in 41 mag.
I don’t think anything can top my S&W 642. It’s this super lightweight, hammerless J-frame that’s chambered in .38 Special. I’ve got it paired up with a solid holster and some speed strips for those quick reloads. Sure, it doesn’t have a big capacity, but when it comes to deep concealment and close-range defense, it’s just unbeatable
