.458 SOCOM is all about that stopping power. It was created with special operations in mind, because sometimes, you just need a little more firepower than what the standard 5.56 can deliver, especially when you're in tight spots.
I've watched MANY tube videos on hogs... 458 Seems hit or miss (forgive the pun)... I'm gonna load up some 410gr sub-x at 1600 fps and see what happens I guess...
My boys and I (.450 Bushmaster and .50 Beowulf) look forward to range day way more than my shoulder does. Both are on the AR 15 platform the .450 is my hunting rifle and the .50 I got in case one day I gotta stop an armored vehicle. I've never fired a .458 but im quite sure all 3 are comparable, brutal.
