Short-barreled AR

For those of you running short-barreled ARs in the 10.5–12.5 range, I’d love to know what setups you’ve found that manage to balance smooth cycling while minimizing gas blowback. What recoil systems and gas configurations have you found to be the most effective?

With my 11.5", I consistently end up with a slightly restricted gas block, an H2 buffer and a Sprinco Blue spring. It’s not anything out of the ordinary but it’s a solid mix that prevents the gun from feeling like it’s in a constant sprint. It minimizes the blowback enough that I don’t get a face full of gas, and the recoil impulse is more of a smooth push instead of a jarring slap.
