What carrying appendix actually does to your wardrobe over time

Nobody warns you about this part but carrying appendix quietly rewrites your entire wardrobe over time without you really noticing it happening. You stop buying slim fit shirts almost without deciding to and somewhere along the way you develop opinions about shirt length that you never expected to have in your life. You catch yourself standing in the men's section actually touching fabric and mentally calculating how it's going to drape over a gun, which is not a sentence past you would have understood.

You also end up owning a lot more dark colors than you used to, again without ever consciously choosing that direction. None of it happens all at once, it sneaks up on you gradually, shirt by shirt, until one day the new normal just feels like how you've always dressed.

Has carrying changed anything about how you dress that caught you off guard once you noticed it?

A good belt also became part of the wardrobe instead of just an accessory. It's funny how carrying changes the way you shop without you even realizing it until you look back.

Somehow I own a ton of dark henley shirts now but I never set out to buy them. It just sort of happened over a couple of years.
